Patricia joined Macro in 2020 when the company was awarded a contract with a leading sporting retailer. Shortly after, Patricia became Retail & Technology Portfolio Director, managing openings for over 1,000 stores and office headquarters.

She has over 25 years of experience in retail construction, maintenance and operations for both EMEA and North America.

How did you get into what you do?

My career in construction and FM began while working for Zara Canada, where I learned the ropes and grew into the role. From there, I moved on to Guess, Guess Europe, and Foot Locker, which eventually led me to my current position in the Netherlands with Macro.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

What I enjoy most about my current role at Macro is the amazing team I work with. We have a great dynamic and genuinely care for each other, which brings me joy every day.

How do you make a difference and help find a better way?

To make a difference and find a better way, I listen to our clients' needs, address business issues, and work with teams to stay one step ahead. Flexibility is key in providing tailored solutions for our clients.

What has been your proudest career achievement so far?

My proudest career achievement so far has been facing and overcoming challenges at each company I've worked with, shaping me into the person I am today. I always maintain a positive attitude and never give up.

What skills do you need to be good at your job?

In addition to background experience in FM and construction, strong people skills are crucial for success in my role. Getting the best out of people is key in resolving issues across various FM areas.

What advice would you give to someone looking to get into what you do?

My advice for someone looking to enter this field is to say yes to challenges, seek help when needed, and prioritise listening before speaking.

What advice would you give to women trying to get into the FM industry?

For women looking to enter the FM industry, my advice is to let your voice be heard and confidently pursue your goals.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Outside of work, I am passionate about spending quality time with family and friends, gardening, visiting the beach, reading, and practicing yoga.
